Not All That Glitters

Hello Peeps :)

Growing up in a Jamaican household, a lot of my life lessons were taught through catchy sayings. For instance, "Not all that glitters is gold". I used to hate when my mom would say this to be because she would usually say this when things were going great in my life and I had let it go to my head. Quite frankly, I would think that she was just trying to burst my bubble. Now, however, I think very much the opposite.

In fact, I'm glad for this little nugget of knowledge my mom instilled in me in my childhood days because now as a teenager embracing the word I remember that although things may appear to sunny skies on the outside, they might in fact be cloudy days on the inside. No I'm not saying to go into every situation looking for the worst. What I am saying however is to go into every situation with a bright attitude but also with the knowledge that things can change for the worst at the drop of a hat. And it's with that knowledge that you will be able to say "I am ready for anything the world has to throw at me".

That's all for now folks.
Peace :)
